Underage Drinking — Furnishing to Minors
Effective Representation for Alcohol-Related Offenses
The serious consequences of alcohol offenses should not be overlooked. Criminal sanctions range from loss of driving privileges to possible jail time, and a conviction may have collateral consequences for college entrance, employment or loans. The potential penalties demand that you have an experienced attorney address your case.

- Underage drinking — On a first offense, a citation for underage consumption of alcohol carries a three-month driver's license suspension, whether or not the person was in a car at the time. On a second offense, the suspension is one year.
- Underage DUI — Drivers under the age of 21 can be charged with driving under the influence at a BAC of .02 or greater (any alcohol in the blood). Enhanced penalties apply at BAC levels of .10 and .16.
- Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor — This is a jailable misdemeanor, and can apply to college students who are over the age of 21 and provide liquor to their underage friends or parents who provide alcohol for an at-home party. Additional criminal charges and civil liability are possible if the underage drinker injured someone while driving.
- Other Alcohol Offenses: Public drunkenness, open container, attempting to purchase liquor by a person under 21
